Winnipeg police seize homemade tasers during arrest in North Point Douglas

Winnipeg police say two fully operational homemade tasers were among the weapons and drugs seized from a man in North Point Douglas on Monday night.

The Winnipeg Police Service says officers stopped a man for allegedly riding his bicycle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act just before 9 p.m.

Officers identified the man and learned he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, according to police.

During the arrest, a search of his belongings led to the seizure of the two tasers, a can of bear spray, methamphetamine and crack cocaine.

A 41-year-old is facing weapons, drugs and charges related to the Highway Traffic Act.
