Winnipeggers will soon be able to fly direct to the Dominican Republic and Belize

Winnipeg travellers looking to travel to sunny and hot destinations are in luck.

WestJet has announced it is launching two non-stop routes from Winnipeg Richardson International Airport.

A once-a-week direct flight from Winnipeg to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, will begin Nov. 28.

A direct flight from to Belize City, in Belize, is starting Dec. 14. That route will also be offered once a week.

“Winnipeg Airports Authority is excited to see WestJet add even more opportunities for travellers to head somewhere warm this winter,” said Nick Hays, the president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority.
