Winnipeg dermatologist has practice limited after alleged misconduct with patients

A Winnipeg dermatologist has been ordered to stop the majority of his work after alleged misconduct involving female patients.
It is alleged that Dr. Earl Minuk broke the code of ethics by violating a requirement stating he must have a female chaperone with him whenever he was treating female patients.
It is alleged that in November 2022, Dr. Minuk saw one patient who is only being identified as Patient A, during a time when the clinic was normally closed, and no chaperone was present.
It is also alleged that Minuk broke professional boundaries with another patient, who is only being identified as Patient B, between September 2021 and February 2022.
It is believed that Minuk would try to make advances towards Patient B, including over text, and tried to start a relationship, including after she rejected him several times.
The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba says that Minuk has been practicing medicine since 1989, and noted that he had previously been reported as far back as 2009 for inappropriate comments.
Minuk has also been required to have a female chaperone present when dealing with female patients since 2022.
He has also been ordered to pay for the cost of the investigation, which is $10,000.
