Manitoba 911 service restored followed outage

All Manitobans can now dial 911 and receive emergency services if they need to.
The service was down for Bell customers outside of Winnipeg on Wednesday “following a third-party fibre cable cut,” the telecommunications company explained in an email.
Bell said both wireless and wireline emergency call services were available again, and the affected Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in Brandon was reconnected.
“We thank Manitobans for their patience as we work to address the damaged infrastructure,” Bell wrote in an email at 4:13 p.m.
Nearly three hours earlier, Bell first warned of the outage and described it as an “evolving situation.”
