Police identify 2 who died in overnight fire in Atlantic Avenue

Winnipeg police say they’ve identified two people who were killed in an overnight fire on Atlantic Avenue on Saturday.
WPF and WFPS responded to a blaze around 2:49 a.m. at a three-storey commercial and residential mixed-use building on Atlantic Avenue near Charles Street.
During firefighting efforts, two people were evacuated and taken to hospital in critical condition, where they both died from their injuries.
Police have identified the victims as 49-year-old Geda Wodisso and 38-year-old Zenabu Gula.
The cause of the fire has not been released; however, police say it has been deemed suspicious, and the homicide unit is now investigating.
