Man charged in connection to human remains being found north of Winnipeg

Manitoba RCMP say a 41-year-old man has been charged after human remains were found in Riverton, Manitoba, Tuesday morning.

Mounties say on May 12, they received a report regarding possible human remains that were found in the community.

Officers responded and executed a search warrant for a property, and where they were able to find a body within a vehicle.

An autopsy was able to confirm the remains were those of 39-year-old Darryl Lambert, who was reported missing to Gimli RCMP on March 17.

Since, 41-year-old Richard Lea — who was taken into custody at the scene — has been charged with second degree murder.
