2 men charged, Winnipeg police seize drugs and guns

Winnipeg police say two men have been charged after police found that one was in violation of his parole.

WPS says in April, officers began an investigation into 38-year-old Stephen Wilfred Jade Wood, believing that he was violating his parole.

During the investigation, police were able to find and take Wood and another man into custody at a business along Main Street. During a subsequent search of Wood police were able to find and seize the following:

  • A loaded 9mm handgun with magazine
  • A magazine with ammunition
  • A .40 calibre rifle with foldable stock (reported stolen)
  • Approximately $20,000 in Canadian currency
  • 1.13 Kg of fentanyl (estimated street value = $60,000)
  • 10.1 ounces of methamphetamine (estimated street value = $3,500)
  • 5.5 ounces of cocaine (estimated street value = $11,000)
  • 8 grams of crack cocaine (estimated street value = $640)
  • 25 grams of MDMA (estimated street value = $1,000)
  • Canister of bear mace

Officers also conducted a search of the other man, where they were able to find and seize a loaded 9mm handgun, 1 ounce of fentanyl, and two cell phones.

Wood has since been charged with 15 drug, firearm, and probation order-related offences. WPS notes that he was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being in violation of his parole.

The second man — 50-year-old Rommel Celfo Jimenez — has been charged with 14 drug, firearm, and probation order-related offences.
