Winnipeg police continue looking for answers in historical disappearance, homicide

Winnipeg police say they are continuing to investigate a homicide that took place ten years ago.

WPS says on July 11, 2015, Thelma Krull was believed to have gone for a walk around 7:23 a.m. from her home in the Grassie Boulevard area to the Civic Park/ Kildonan East Collegiate area, where she went missing.

Investigators later recovered some items belonging to her, including her cell phone and glasses.

Krull would remain missing until October 27, 2018, when her remains were found in a wooded area southeast of Winnipeg — east of Highway 12, north of Highway 1.

Police believe where Krull was found might be significant, and that the suspect is likely familiar with the area.

WPS and the RCMP are continuing to ask for the public’s help in their investigation as they seek justice for Krull and her family.

At the time of her disappearance, Krull was 5’4″, around 170 pounds, with short dyed blonde hair that had a purple streak.

She was last seen wearing a red/orange t-shirt, 3/4 length black Capri-style pants, a black fanny pack, and tan/brown hiking boots.

Anyone who may have any information is asked to contact investigators at 204-986-6051 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
