Man facing charges after allegedly threatening a security guard at a Winnipeg hotel

Winnipeg police say a 46-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill a security guard just after midnight.
WPS says officers responded to a hotel along Portage Avenue around 12:25 a.m. on Mar. 9, after receiving a report that a man had allegedly pulled out a knife and had threatened a security guard.
Officers attended the scene and were able to locate the man believed to be connected walking near the intersection of Portage Avenue and Smith Street, within minutes of the report.
The 46-year-old man was taken into custody and was reportedly found to be in possession of a knife.
Police say he is facing charges of possession of a weapon and failing to comply with a probation order.
