Winnipeg police say a 49-year-old man has been charged in connection to drug trafficking in the city.
WPS says in September, officers began an investigation into drug trafficking within the city, and were able to identify a vehicle and a person of interest.
Police say on Sept. 11, officers reportedly noticed a drug deal happening along Keewatin Street around 10:30 a.m.
Following this, a man was taken into custody, and he, along with his vehicle, were searched. During the search, police were able to find and seize around $1,200 in cash and around $2,200 in crack cocaine.
Police later executed a search warrant for the man’s house, where they found an additional $2,800 worth of crack cocaine and other drug packaging paraphernalia.
The 49-year-old man is facing charges of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
