Winnipeg man allegedly lures girl online, sexually assaults her: police

Police have charged a 49-year-old Winnipeg man after a girl was allegedly lured online and sexually assaulted.

The Winnipeg Police Service alleges the youth met the man over social media in December 2023.

“During the following months, the survivor continued to communicate and met with the suspect on multiple occasions where she was sexually assaulted,” police said in a news release.

A sexual exploitation investigation began in September, and the suspect was arrested on Dec. 22.
