Firefighters put out blaze at vacant house on Alfred Avenue for 3rd time this year

Winnipeg firefighters were called to a vacant house fire on Alfred Avenue Sunday just before midnight.

It was the third time in a matter of months the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service was called to that particular home; crews were also needed in July, and again earlier this month.

The latest blazed was declared extinguished at 1:11 a.m. Monday. The structure sustained fire, smoke and water damage.

No occupants were found and no injuries were reported, said WFPS.

The fire is under investigation.

Officials are reminding that anyone who sees someone entering a vacant building or removing boards from windows or doors from a building should call 911.
