Winnipeg police have identified the driver in Sunday morning’s rollover in Transcona as a 21-year-old man, and they’re investigating if speed was a contributing factor in the crash.
The man remains in hospital, according to the Winnipeg Police Service. He was taken there in critical condition by STARS ambulance helicopter, where he underwent surgery for serious injuries.

Police were called to the scene on Redonda Street near the Murdoch Mackay School around 1:42 a.m. Officers and paramedics arrived to find a 2020 BMW M340i off the roadway and on the grass on the east side of Victoria Jason Park.
The 21-year-old driver, who was the only person in the car, had been ejected from the vehicle, police say.

CityNews was at the scene Sunday. The heavily damaged vehicle was on its side, and several large wooden posts were cracked at the base.
Residents told CityNews speeding in the area is common.
The WPS traffic unit is continuing to investigate.
