Winnipeg police say a suspect wanted for first-degree murder in connection with the death of 30-year-old Shelby Dawn Hayward has been arrested.
Hayward was reported missing in November 2023 after last being seen near Polo Park Mall. Initial work by the Missing Persons Unit transitioned to the Homicide Unit early this year, as police say evidence suggested she was dead.
Investigators identified four suspects linked to Hayward’s death. Two were arrested in the last six weeks, while another died during the investigation.
On Thursday, the Winnipeg Police Service says officers arrested Taylor Lena Ray Moose, 25, near Maryland Street. She was detained in custody.
On Sept. 25, Tamara Gayle Moneyas, 24, was arrested at a home on Toronto Street. On Oct. 2, Vincent Charles Fontaine, 39, was apprehended at the Headingley Correctional Institution. Those suspects were also charged with first-degree murder.
