No students injured in collision between school bus, pickup truck on highway west of Winnipeg

Police say neither of the two teenage students on a school bus was injured in a collision with a pickup truck on the highway near Portage la Prairie, west of Winnipeg, on Monday afternoon.

Portage la Prairie RCMP say it happened around 4:30 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 430 and Road 67 North. Police say the truck was driving north on the highway when it collided with the eastbound bus.

Photos of the crash provided by the RCMP show the front of the pickup truck aligned with the doors of the school bus.

The 49-year-old driver of the school bus was not injured. The 22-year-old man driving the pickup truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the collision is being investigated.
