North End death investigated as homicide

Winnipeg police say they are investigating a 35-year-old man’s death in North End Saturday afternoon as a possible homicide.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the victim was identified as Robert Clayton Smith.
Officers were called to a suite on Manitoba Avenue near Aikins Street around 2:45 p.m. for a person in distress. They found a man unresponsive and “requiring immediate medical care.”
He was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was later pronounced dead.
The WPS homicide unit is investigating.
