Winnipeg police say a 34-year-old man is dead after allegedly being assaulted with a weapon by several individuals at a North End business on Monday night.
The victim has been identified as Kyle Christopher Desjarlais, a Métis man who was living in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the incident happened just after 8 p.m. at a commercial business on Salter Street.
Investigators say Desjarlais was in the business when he was approached by several individuals.

“An argument ensued, which escalated to the point where the victim was assaulted with a weapon. The suspects fled and police were notified,” WPS said in a news release.
Desjarlais was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he died of his injuries.
The WPS homicide unit is investigating.
