Police charge one man in fatal Mulvey Avenue shooting; 2nd suspect still at large

Winnipeg police say one man wanted in connection with the murder of Damion Wayne Skrumeda has been taken into custody and another is still wanted.

WPS previously issued arrest warrants for Randy Blake Flett, 25, and Jerrin Macintyre, 28, last month.

On Sept. 13, police responded to a report that a man had been shot in an apartment building on Mulvey Avenue near Hugo Street N.

When officers arrived, they found 46-year-old Skrumeda suffering from gunshot wounds and later confirmed he had died.

On Oct. 2, WPS conducted a traffic stop on a stolen vehicle while patrolling near Princess Street and Pacific Avenue.

As officers approached the vehicle, police say the driver exited the vehicle and tried to run from police. He was caught and taken into custody in connection to the stolen vehicle, where police learned through identifying the man that he was Flett, and wanted for murder.

Flett has since been turned over to the Homicide Unit.

WPS says the second suspect, Macintyre, is still wanted. He has been described as five-foot-nine weighing about 135 pounds, and is considered to be armed and dangerous.

If anyone has any information regarding Macintyre, they are asked to contact WPS at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
