14-year-old charged with 2nd-degree murder in fatal stabbing at Millennium Library

Three Winnipeg teenagers are facing charges – including a 14-year-old boy who was charged with second-degree murder – in connection with a fatal stabbing at Millennium Library Sunday afternoon.
Two other Winnipeg teens, a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, are facing manslaughter charges. All three remain in police custody.
Investigators with the homicide unit say more arrests could be coming.
The victim was identified as 28-year-old Tyree Cayer of Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Police Service says it received a report that a man had been stabbed at the library around 4:40 p.m.
The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition, where he was pronounced dead.
Three teens fled on foot but were later arrested “without incident.”
Investigators believe the suspects and victim were involved in a verbal dispute. They say it escalated when the suspects physically assaulted the victim.
“During the assault, the victim was stabbed by one of the suspects resulting in serious injury.”
The homicide unit’s investigation is ongoing.
