Winnipeg man charged for allegedly luring, sexually assaulting teenager

Winnipeg police say a 24-year-old man has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a teenager.

WPS says that in February, they became aware of inappropriate contact between a teenager and a 24-year-old man.

It is believed that the teen had been contacted by the man through social media, which allegedly led to multiple in-person meetings at the man’s house over several days. It is believed that during this time, the teen was allegedly sexually assaulted.

On Feb. 27, WPS went to the man’s house and reportedly found the man and the teen together.

On March 2, police took 24-year-old Sterling Bergmann Camara into custody, and he was charged with luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, two counts of sexual assault, and two counts of sexual interference.
