Springs Christian Academy to become French-language middle school

A new French-language middle school will be in Winnipeg’s St. Boniface neighbourhood this year.
The province confirmed the school, which is located at 261 Youville St. and previously operated as Springs Christian Academy, will begin classes on Sept. 11.
It is also expected to hold 375 students when it opens.
“Families across Manitoba are choosing French-language education in record numbers, and we want to make sure there is a seat for every child who wants one,” said Education and Early Childhood Learning Minister Tracy Schmidt. “This investment is about more than classrooms; it is about ensuring Manitoba’s francophone heritage continues to thrive for generations to come.”
The province says that four other schools are expected to have construction begin later this year.
