Suspects in Winnipeg homicide arrested in Edmonton

Two people have been arrested in connection with the death of a man on Halloween in Elmwood.

Winnipeg police say officers found the man on the ground near a home and began emergency medical care. He was taken to a hospital in critical condition, where he later died.

His death is being investigated as a homicide. This will be the 44th homicide of the year in Winnipeg, matching the previous record in the city.

Two suspects, a 23-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, were later identified and were believed to have left to Edmonton.

On Nov. 17, after being asked for assistance by Winnipeg police, the Edmonton Police Service was able to find and arrest the pair believed to have been involved.

Both suspects have since been returned to Winnipeg.
