Raptors returning to Toronto for massive victory parade

TORONTO (NEWS 1130) – A victory parade for the Toronto Raptors on Monday is expected to draw over a million people.
Fans who couldn’t wait to welcome the championship team back to Toronto showed up at the airport to greet them.
Danny Green, Pascal Siakam and Mark Gasol and head coach Nick Nurse arrived in the city on Saturday night. Hundreds of fans greeted them with cheers and high fives when they landed at Pearson International Airport.
The rest of the team — including MVP Kawhi Leanord — will return Sunday night.
Monday’s parade is set to start at 10 a.m. It will wind through the city and conclude with an hour-long rally at City Hall at 12:30 p.m.
680 NEWS reports that some people are already camping out along the route.
Toronto Mayor John Tory says he hopes employers will give their workers some leeway during the lunch hour so they can join in the celebration.
“We haven’t been through one of these since the World Series parades in the 90s. We’ve been told that you literally can expect between one and two million people, which is an extraordinary thing to even contemplate,” he told 680 NEWS’ Casey Taylor.
