WINNIPEG (CITYNEWS) – Police are hoping someone might have details that will help them nab a suspect that robbed a senior woman a couple months ago.
On September 29, a 69-year-old woman stopped to get her mail at a community mailbox when a man approached her parked car. Police say the man asked the woman for the keys to her car and–after a struggle with the woman–stole her purse from the passenger seat.
The purse was full of bank cards, cash, and medication. The next day, the victim’s bank cards were used by a man at a number of locations around Winnipeg.
Investigators say the suspect was an Indigenous male in his early 20s. He was about 5’6″ with a thin build, short, dark hair and a moustache. He was wearing a dark jacket, white pants, and grey shoes at the time of the robbery. He also has a tattoo on his right hand.
If you recognize this person you’re asked to reach out to WPS at 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
