When the internet comes over for a burger

You’re going out to eat. Where do you go? You check Yelp ratings, or Uber Eats stars…or more likely, you Google the food you want and where you are, and you get a list. Best sushi in Toronto. Best bagels in Montreal. You just want the best, after all, and the internet is full of lists.

But how accurate are the majority of them? Where do they come from? How did they come to dominate online decision making? And what happens to the restaurants that end up at the top of them? It’s not always the boon it seems to be. Today we’ll tell you a story about what happens when a digital culture comes to eat at an analog burger joint.
