Multiple people charged for allegedly holding women against their will in northern Manitoba

Manitoba RCMP in Moose Lake say three people have been charged and a fourth is facing charges for allegedly holding several women against their will.

Mounties say around 8:10 a.m. on Oct. 12, they received a call from a 29-year-old woman claiming that her and two other women — aged 24 and 27 — were being held against their will and assaulted in a home, but were able to flee.

After receiving the report, officers met with the women and were informed that they were accused of stealing money by the occupants of the home, which led to them being held against their will, searched and then assaulted prior to being allowed to leave.

The report also noted that there was machetes, bear mace and a sawed-off shotgun inside the home.

Following this, officers executed a search warrant at the home, where they were able to find and seize multiple edged weapons, cash, ammunition, and other drug-related paraphernalia.

In addition to this, Mounties were also able to find nine adults inside the home, five of whom were released without charges.

Since, 28-year-old Rebecca Campbell and 31-year-old Tiffany Campbell have been charged with forcible confinement and assault.

Mounties also took 33-year-old Billy Campbell into custody, as he was wanted on several outstanding warrants. He was also charged with resisting arrest.

Lastly, a 40-year-old man was charged with possession of property obtained by a crime and was released on an undertaking with a notice to appear in court at a later date.
