Man charged after being found breaching conditions of a release order

Winnipeg police say a 30-year-old man has been charged after being found breaching conditions of a release order.

WPS says around 8:50 a.m. on Sept. 16, officers reportedly noticed a man wearing a balaclava walking on Portage Avenue near David Street.

Police spoke to the man and he reportedly identified himself as 30-year-old David Ian Fleet.

Following this, officers learned that he was breaching several court orders, including an order prohibiting him from entering the City of Winnipeg, and took him into custody.

While taking the man into custody, police were able to find and seize several items that still had price tags on them from a box store in the area that Flett was also court-ordered not to attend.

WPS says Flett has since been charged with theft under $5,000, failing to comply with a probation order, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
