Over 200k Manitobans cast early votes in federal election

It appears voters in Manitoba are eager to cast their ballots.

Elections Canada has logged an increase of more than 22 per cent when it comes to people participating in advanced polls in the province.

229,379 people participated in the advanced vote, according to estimated turnout at the polls, which ran from April 18 until April 21.

The increase in Manitoba tracks with a national increase being seen across canada, as early ballot boxes swelled 25 per cent when compared to the previous election in 2021.

Canadians go to the polls to decide the leader of the country on April 28.
