Two individuals have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 30-year-old Shelby Dawn Hayward.
Hayward was reported missing in November 2023 after last being seen near Polo Park Mall.
Initial work by the Missing Persons Unit transitioned to the Homicide Unit early this year, as police say evidence suggested she was dead.
Investigators identified four suspects linked to Hayward’s death.
On Sept. 25, 24-year-old Tamara Gayle Moneyas was arrested at a home on Toronto Street. On Oct. 2, 39-year-old Vincent Charles Fontaine was apprehended at the Headingley Correctional Institution. Both suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and are currently in custody.
A third suspect, 25-year-old Taylor Lena Ray Moose, remains at large. A warrant for her arrest has been issued. She is described as approximately five-foot-four, weighing around 137 lbs., with auburn hair and brown eyes.
A fourth suspect died during the investigation.
The Homicide Unit is urging the public to assist in locating Moose. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact investigators at 204-986-6508 or to report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS.
