Man accused of sexually assaulting victim with gun during abduction

Winnipeg police say a 34-year-old man has been charged after another man was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted late last week.
WPS says around 4 a.m. on Aug. 16, officers responded to a reported kidnapping.
It’s alleged a man was in his home along Millpond Path on Aug. 13,when he was confronted by two men. It is believed he was beaten, then abducted to an unknown location, where he was then allegedly sexually assaulted with a gun.
Some time later, he was released, at which point he contacted police.
Through an investigation, police were able to identify a suspect believed to be involved, and have taken him into custody.
WPS says 34-year-old Gurpreet Vehniwal of West St. Paul has since been charged with 11 offences, including robbery, kidnapping, sexual assault, and assault with a weapon.
