Police charge man in connection to cocaine trafficking

Winnipeg police’s Guns and Gangs Unit has charged a man in connection with cocaine trafficking.

WPS says after a nearly two-month long operation, and several search warrants, a 23-year-old man is now in custody.

In the drug bust, police managed to seize the following items:

  • A 9mm handgun with a high-capacity magazine
  • 9mm ammunition
  • 17 ounces of cocaine (estimated street value of $34,000)
  • Cutting agent
  • Approximately $20,000 in bundled cash
  • Scales
  • Mobile phones

The 23-year-old has been released but is expected to appear in court at a later date. He faces multiple charges, including possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a firearm.
