Man allegedly follows woman onto Winnipeg Transit bus and sexually assaults her

Winnipeg police say a man is facing a sex assault charge following an incident on Saturday night.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the 23-year-old suspect encountered a woman and began speaking to her. The man then hugged and kissed her.
Authorities say the woman managed to “break free” and board a parked Winnipeg Transit bus.
“The man followed and sat next to the woman on the bus and proceeded to sexually assault her,” Winnipeg police said in a news release.
Other passengers on the bus intervened, police say, and stopped the assault.
Patrol officers who were in the area of the 3900 block of Portage Avenue were called and arrested the man.
