Province warning about several highways experiencing washouts due to heavy rainfall and flooding

The province is advising that several highways in affected regions of the province have experienced washouts due to heavy rainfall and flooding.

They say washouts have led to road closures, limited access in some areas, and rapidly changing travel conditions.

The province says they have over 50 staff installing signage and assessing damage to highways, bridges and water infrastructure.

About 16 people from the Canada Task Force 4 search and rescue team, including off-road vehicles, four boats, various pumps and generators.

Additionally, 21 personnel from the Manitoba Fire Service representing the Pas, Gilbert Plains, Dauphin, Winnipegosis and Lauriere, and a helicopter is available to assist with emergency evacuations.
