An impaired collision in St. Norbert sent a woman and a toddler to hospital Friday evening. Both were in stable condition.
Winnipeg police were called around 8 p.m. reporting a two-vehicle collision in the 3000 block of Pembina highway.
Police say that the two men from one of the vehicles were removing bags from the car and hiding them by a nearby hotel.
WPS officers searched the area by the hotel and found a bag containing a .22 caliber semi automatic rifle, a loaded magazine and arrested a 17-year-old boy.
He was in possession of two CO2 powered pistols, crack cocaine and drug packaging materials. He has been charged with multiple weapon- and drug-related charges.
Using a helicopter, police located and arrested the second suspect, a 33-year-old man, who was charged with impaired driving and firearm-related offences. He was found to be in possession of cocaine and methamphetamine. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Both the suspects remain in police custody.
The investigation is ongoing.
