2 men arrested after stabbing outside Winnipeg hotel

Two men were arrested in connection with a stabbing incident outside a Winnipeg hotel early Thursday morning.

Winnipeg police (WPS) said its officers working nearby responded to a radio broadcast around 2:00 a.m. reporting that a man in his 20s had been stabbed outside the hotel located in the 700 block of William Avenue.

The victim made his way to a hospital nearby after being allegedly stabbed by two unknown suspects. His condition was unstable when he went in, but was later said to be stable.

The two suspects Barry Quinton Beardy, 26, and Jared Ranston Hill, 28, had allegedly fled on foot after the stabbing incident.

Police officers with the help of a K9 Unit arrested the men on Slaw Rebchuk Bridge on Salter Avenue and took them into custody.

Beardy faces charges of aggravated assault and failure to comply with probation order. Meanwhile, Hill faces charges of aggravated assault and six counts of failure to comply with release orders.

The charges have yet to be tested in court.
