Winnipeg police say a 40-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly killing a kitten, then throwing a knife at a woman who confronted him about it.
The Winnipeg Police Service says it happened Saturday around 11 p.m. at an apartment complex on William Avenue near Gertie Street.
The woman says she entered the common hallway of the building after hearing a cat in distress. She says she found a dead kitten in the hallway and confronted the resident she believed was responsible for the feline’s death.
Police say the man responded by throwing a knife at her. The knife did not hit her.
Officers arrested the suspect and seized a knife during the arrest.
He is facing charges of killing an animal, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.
