Police say a 23-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter after three men were assaulted – one fatally – in Winnipeg’s North End early Monday morning.
The Winnipeg Police Service says 49-year-old Robson Isaac Sinclair, a member of Fisher River Cree Nation who was living in Winnipeg, died of his injuries in hospital.
Two other men, aged 23 and 27, were seriously injured.
Officers were called to Stella Walk near King Street around 3:20 a.m. They arrived to find two men outside and one, later identified as Sinclair, in a nearby suite all suffering from serious injuries. Sinclair was in critical condition while the other two men were in unstable condition, later upgraded to stable.
Elroy Ross has been charged with manslaughter and aggravated assault. The allegation against him has not been tested in court.
The WPS homicide unit is investigating.
