Woman refuses to pay $2,000 bill at Winnipeg beauty boutique: police

Winnipeg police say a woman has been charged after allegedly walking out on an expensive bill at a St. Boniface beauty boutique.

The Winnipeg Police Service alleges the 31-year-old received $2,072 in beauty treatments at a boutique on Marion Street on Feb. 18.

The boutique told police the woman indicated she would return to pay for the services but never did.

On Monday, investigators with the WPS property crime unit arrested Brooke Tanis Smith and charged her with theft. The allegation has not been tested in court.
