Man charged after multiple violent incidents near Tyndall Park

Winnipeg police say a man has been charged in connection with several violent incidents in the Tyndall Park area on Wednesday.

WPS says they responded to the area after receiving multiple reports of vehicle windows being smashed and that people had been threatened with a knife.

Reports indicate the incidents began around 10:10 a.m., when a man was seen acting erratically with a knife.

Following this, a 2014 Honda CR-V reportedly stopped at the intersection of Keewatin Street and Burrows Avenue and had its passenger side window smashed by a man with a knife.

Then, an unoccupied 2022 Honda Civic has the driver’s side window smashed in a parking lot along Keewatin Street near Tyndall Avenue.

Following this, two windows at a nearby restaurant were smashed. Employees reportedly held the doors closed in an attempt to stop the man from entering.

A 2017 Chevy Silverado which was stopped at the intersection of Keewatin Street and Burrows Avenue, had its passenger side window smashed by a man, before he went to the driver’s side of the truck and put a knife to the throat of the driver through an open window and allegedly threatened to stab the driver.

Then the man entered a nearby pharmacy and allegedly put a knife to the throat of an employee, before letting her go and causing around $80,000 worth of property damage.

By 10:14 a.m., officers had located the man and were able to take him into custody. At the time, police were able to seize a knife.

Police say no injuries were reported during any of the incidents.

Since, 26-year-old Manny Rae Chudrick has been charged with resisting a peace officer, two counts of assaulting a peace officer, uttering threats, possession of a weapon, four counts of failing to comply with conditions of a release order, two counts of mischief over $5,000, and three counts of mischief under $5,000.
