Man charged after allegedly attacking 2 teens with a machete in Pine Falls

Manitoba RCMP say a 56-year-old man has been charged after two teens were hospitalized in Pine Falls in late August.

RCMP says around 6:05 a.m. on Aug. 30, Mounties responded to a report that a 16-year-old boy had been sent to a hospital after being attacked by a machete.

While investigating, Mounties found another teen — a 17-year-old boy — at a home, suffering from serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both teens were taken to a hospital in Winnipeg for treatment.

Speaking to community members, police learned that the man in question was also allegedly in possession of a firearm at the time of the altercation.

On Sept. 12, Mounties issued an arrest warrant for 56-year-old Lorin Morrisseau, and on Sept. 13, the arrest warrant was executed at his house.

Morrisseau has since been charged with eight assault and weapons-related offences.
