Winnipeg police say a 61-year-old man was attacked by suspects with a knife and baseball bat early Wednesday morning in what authorities believe was a random, unprovoked incident.
The Winnipeg Police Service says two suspects on bicycles assaulted the man, who had just parked his vehicle and was walking home, on Furby Street around 3 a.m.
The man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital in unstable condition. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
Police say the suspects demanded property from the victim, then assaulted him in the upper body with the knife and bat.
No arrests have been made.
