Winnipeg police say a man in his 70s drove his SUV into vehicles waiting at a red light on Ellice Avenue Monday morning.
The Winnipeg Police Service says the driver and his passenger were taken to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.
Police say four vehicles were stopped at the red light on Ellice and Banning Street around 9 a.m. when they were struck by a Nissan Qashqai.
“The force of the impact resulted in all involved vehicles to sustain significant damage, rendering them inoperable,” WPS said.
Nobody in the four vehicles sustained injuries that required hospitalization, according to police.
The intersection was closed for a large part of the day.
No arrests have been made.
An investigation is ongoing.
