Man killed in rollover collision east of Winnipeg

Manitoba RCMP say a 27-year-old man is dead following a rollover collision on Highway 12 Wednesday morning.

A Mountie who was driving on Highway 12 found the vehicle rolled over around 6:20 a.m.

After stopping to investigate the collision, a passerby informed the officer they saw someone attempting to remove a person from the vehicle before fleeing on foot.

Following that, the Mountie was able to find a 27-year-old man suffering from life-threatening injuries.

The man was taken to a hospital by STARS Air Ambulance, where he later died from his injuries.

With help from police dogs and a drone, Mounties were able to find a 31-year-old man who is believed to have been driving the vehicle. He was taken into custody a short distance away from the scene.
