Winnipeg firefighters extinguish blazes at two vacant homes

Winnipeg fire crews were tasked with putting out fires at two vacant properties overnight – with both fires now under investigation.

At 12:27 a.m., the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) was called to a two-storey home on Pritchard Avenue.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. The blaze was declared under control at 1:15 a.m.

A few hours later, at 3:29 a.m., crews were called to a one-and-a-half storey house on Burrows Avenue, where they also encountered heavy smoke and flames.

That fire was deemed under control at 3:59 a.m.

The house was previously damaged in a fire in September 2022.
