Winnipeg launches new service disruption webpage

The City of Winnipeg says it has launched a new webpage to provide updates when city facilities are temporarily unavailable.
“Winnipeggers deserve to have the information they need to access City facilities with confidence and ease,” said Mayor Scott Gillingham. “This new webpage is an important step in ensuring residents can plan their visits and know about any temporary accessibility disruptions in advance. It’s another way we’re working to make Winnipeg a more inclusive and accessible city for everyone.”
The page will show disruptions for publicly accessible city buildings, pools, libraries, and recreation facilities, as well as bus stops and sidewalks.
The information will be shown on a map or in a list, and will include the reasoning as to why there is a disruption.

Winnipeggers also have the ability to filter an address, intersection, category, facility name or type, or area to be able to find specific information they are looking for.
“This is about more than visibility, it’s about action,” said Sherri Rollins, chairperson of the Human Rights Committee of Council. “By highlighting barriers and improving how we share this information with the public, we’re not just addressing immediate challenge, we’re building a foundation for sustainable change and inclusivity in Winnipeg.”
The webpage will be updated by staff at the facilities to ensure up-to-date information is provided.
