Arrest made in violent home invasion in Winnipeg

The Winnipeg Police Service responded to a home invasion on Wednesday, at a town house in the 1700 block of St. Mary’s Road.

At approximately 3:01 a.m., police say they entered the home and located a 36-year-old victim suffering from serious injuries as a result of being assaulted with an edged weapon during the home invasion.

Police say the victim was transported to a hospital in unstable condition, and has since been upgraded to stable.

Police arrested suspect Jonathon Yetman-Levasseur, 19-years-old of Winnipeg a short distance away during a secondary incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
