Police arrest 21-year-old man after firearm discovered in apartment complex

On Saturday, at approximately 11:20 a.m., local law enforcement responded to a call at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Stan Bailie Drive to conduct a welfare check on several occupants.
Initial reports suggested that one individual at the scene might be in possession of a firearm.
Upon arriving at the location, officers, discovered an unconscious adult man in a common hallway of the building.
While assessing the individual, a handgun fell from the man’s waistband onto the floor.
Officers promptly secured the weapon, a Glock 43X 9mm handgun with a loaded magazine containing 9mm ammunition.
The man was arrested without incident, and the firearm was seized as evidence.
No injuries were reported, and officers were able to verify the wellbeing of the other involved parties at the scene.
The arrested individual initially refused to identify himself. However, following a fingerprinting process conducted by the Forensic Identification Unit, his identity was confirmed.
The man was later identified as 21-year-old Malcom Christian Lado, of Winnipeg.
Lado now faces multiple charges.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are continuing to gather details surrounding the incident.
