Woman, 44, killed in Weston house fire: Winnipeg police

Police say a 44-year-old woman was found dead after a house fire in Winnipeg’s Weston neighbourhood on Sunday afternoon.

The Winnipeg Police Service says the fire on Blake Street is believed to have started accidentally.

A man in his 30s and woman in her 20s sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and needed to be hospitalized.

Firefighters are the ones who called Winnipeg police shortly before 3 p.m. after finding the woman’s body.

The WPS major crimes unit is investigating.
