Manitoba’s Kinew the most-approved Canadian premier – again: poll

By News Staff

More than one year after being elected Manitoba’s premier, the honeymoon period is not over for Wab Kinew.

The Manitoba NDP leader is the most-approved premier in the country for the fifth consecutive quarter, according to a new poll by the Angus Reid Institute.

It found Kinew’s approval rating is 67 per cent.

“Kinew has delivered policies to address key campaign promises – affordability and health care – while acknowledging some issues will take more than a year in office to fix, especially when it comes to the latter,” the Angus poll determined.

In the middle of the pack are Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey (46), B.C. Premier David Eby (46) and Alberta Premier Danielle Smith (45).

The least-approved premiers are Quebec’s François Legault (36) and Ontario’s Doug Ford (34).
