Police issue warning regarding release of high risk sex offender

The Manitoba Integrated High Risk Sex Offender Unit (MIHRSOU) has issued a warning to the public regarding the release of a convicted sex offender.

The MIHRSOU says 44-year-old Glen Gregory Tyler Pozniak was released from the Bowden Institution on statutory release after serving a portion of his sentence.

Pozniak was serving time for sexual exploitation, sexual interference, makes, prints, publishes, or possesses for the purpose of publication any child pornography, and possession of child pornography.

The warning to the public comes as Pozniak is believed to be a high risk of re-offending against pre-pubescent and adolescent boys, and he is expected to live in Winnipeg.

Pozniak reportedly had two previous statutory releases revoked due to urinalysis samples returning positive for illicit drugs.

He has been described as 5’7″, weighing 209 lbs, he has brown hair and brown eyes. Additionally, he also has a tattoo on his left forearm of Roman numerals.

Police say that the information is being provided to allow the public to take suitable measures to protect themselves, while noting that any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct will not be tolerated.

If anyone has any information regarding Pozniak, they are asked to contact the MIHRSOU at 431-489-8056, Winnipeg Police Service at 204-986-6222, or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-8477.
